Roman Widaszek – clarinetist and SCV Ligatures artist portrait

Roman Widaszek is a Polish clarinetist who graduated with distinction from the Music Academy in Katowice in the class of Professor Kierski. He continued developing his artistry through masterclasses with Guy Deplus, and Michel Arrignon.



Roman is the laureate of the 2nd Prize at the Polish Clarinet Festival in Piotrków Trybunalski (1995) and the 3rd Prize at the Polish Composition Contest in Bielsko-Biała (1990). He received a scholarship from the Polish Minister of Culture and was awarded the Silver Cross of Merit for his contribution to music culture. His artistic career includes performances with internationally renowned musicians such as Sharon Kam, António Saiote, Gábor Varga,Corrado Giuffredi, the Silesian Quartet, Zemlinsky Quartet and the Hilliard Ensemble.

As a soloist, he has performed with major Polish orchestras, including:

His repertoire includes works by Stamitz, Mozart, Weber, Kurpiński, Ponchielli, Mendelssohn, Krommer, Bruch, Tomasi, Lutosławski, Górecki and Shaw.
Roman has performed across Europe and Asia, including Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, France, Portugal, Finland, Denmark, Kosovo, North Macedonia, South Korea, Japan and China.

He has recorded over twenty albums for EMI, DUX and CD Accord, earning nine nominations for the prestigious Fryderyk Award.
He has collaborated with leading Polish composers such as Hanna Kulenty, Zbigniew Bargielski, Mikołaj Górecki, Marcel Chyrzyński and Krzysztof Herdzin, premiering works written for him.

Roman is one of the few clarinetists who also performs on the rare basset horn.
He teaches at international masterclasses in China, Spain, the Netherlands, Macedonia, Kosovo, Italy, Portugal and Belgium, including the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and the Music Conservatory in Porto.

He is a member of the Cracow Reed Trio, Cracow Wind Quintet and the Polish Basset Horn Ensemble, and a Professor at the
Music Academy in Katowice.

Nadia Sofokleous (Hamoudi) was born in Romania and started playing the clarinet at the age of 13. After just three years she won several national competitions and the international competition Jeunesses Musicales Bucharest.

More prizes and scholarships followed, like the Emma Contestabile Prize of the Accademia Chigiana in Siena and second prize at the international competition “Saverio Mercadante” in Italy. In 2020 she received the advancement award Kulturpreis Schwarzwald-Baar for her excellent pedagogical work.

After studying at the University of Music Bucharest, she continued her studies in Germany and Switzerland. Great mentors like Antony Pay (GB), François Benda (CH), Chen Halevi (FR) and Charles Neidich (USA) left their mark on her interpretation style. As soloist she performed repeatedly with orchestras like Corda Cracovia Orchestra, Radio Chamber Orchestra Bucharest, Oradea Philharmonic Orchestra, and Sinfonieorchester Villingen-Schwenningen. She played recitals and chamber music concerts across all of Europe. She also performed in prestigious festivals like the 11th Clarinet Congress (Cracow), Kreuzgangskonzerte Alpirsbach, Faszination Klarinette (Berlin), Chamber Music Festival Brasov, and the George Enescu Festival (Bucharest). Nadia Sofokleous was a solo clarinet player of the Romanian Radio Chamber Orchestra in Bucharest and collaborated with the National Radio Orchestra Bucharest, as well as the Junge Oper Stuttgart and Sinfonieorchester Villingen-Schwenningen. She is the leader of the woodwind section at the Musikakademie Villingen-Schwenningen, where she fulfills one of her biggest passions: teaching clarinet. Since 2021 she has been a guest lecturer at the University of Music Trossingen. Nadia regularly gives masterclasses in Germany and Romania and is also the founder of the Woodwind Quintett of Musikakademie Villingen-Schwenningen and the Klarisma Ensemble, performing chamber music from duo to septet. Vasko Dukovski is a Macedonian clarinet virtuoso and composer based in Shanghai, China. A Distinguished Clarinet Professor at the Nanjing University of Arts, Dukovski has previously taught at the Juilliard School Global Initiative Program and MAP – Music Advancement Program, USDAN Summer Camp for the Arts and Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College, City University of New York.

An avid performer, composer, improviser, and advocate of contemporary classical and experimental music, Dukovski has performed with some of New York’s most respected ensembles including Either/OR Ensemble, Lost Dog Ensemble, Échappé Ensemble, International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE), Argento New Music Project, S.E.M Ensemble, Bang on a Can All-Stars, Talea Ensemble, Wet Ink Ensemble, ECCE, Metropolis Ensemble, Mise-En Ensemble, Mimesis Ensemble, Nunc Ensemble, AXIOM, LPR Ensemble, PRO – Paragon Ragtime Orchestra, Experiential Orchestra, The Knights Orchestra, as well as Nu Deco Ensemble, Phoenix Symphony Orchestra, Suzhou Symphony Orchestra, and others.

In addition, Dukovski has collaborated with Grammy-winning and nominated artists such as Attacca Quartet, Cassatt Quartet, Secret Quartet, Voxare Quartet, Aqueus Quartet, and Kronos Quartet. As a soloist, Dukovski made his New York debut with the New Juilliard Ensemble in 2006 and has appeared multiple times with the Macedonian Philharmonic, including at Carnegie Hall. In 2016, he appeared as soloist with Ensemble LPR at the historic Naumburg Bandshell in New York’s Central Park performing Aaron Copland’s Clarinet Concerto.

Mise-En Ensemble featured Dukovski as soloist for two American premieres: Essaim Cribles by Michael Jarrell and Eclipse by Yan Marezs. In 2018, he appeared as soloist with Échappé Ensemble giving the world premiere of Jonathan Dawe’s Astounding Angels.

Dukovski’s musical compositions thrive equally in the concert hall and the art gallery. His multi-genre works have been performed across the United States, South America, and Europe by leading performers and ensembles such as the Grammy-nominated Metropolis Ensemble, Either/OR Ensemble, Sforzando Composers Collective, MarKovStein Principle, and Tavche Gravche.

In collaboration with Macedonian artist Ivanco Talevski, Dukovski‘s sound installations have been exhibited at the National Gallery of Macedonia, Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA), Napoleon Gallery, C.R. Ettinger Studio, and The Print Center in Philadelphia.

Recent commissions include the Washington Square Music Festival (New York City) and the New Docta International Festival (Argentina). In 2022, he was awarded as an “Outstanding Foreign Expert’’ by the Nanjing University of Arts, and in 2021 received the “Extraordinary Dedication and Achievement” award from the American Youth Musician Union. Dukovski is also a recipient of the United Macedonian Diaspora “40 under 40 Successful Macedonians” award (2015).

A nominee of the 2013 “Virtuosi” Awards in Macedonia, he is also the winner of numerous international competitions including the 2010 Arriaga Chamber Music Competition (with Grneta Ensemble), III Prize at the Andreas Makris Clarinet Competition, Special Prize at the Jeunesses Musicales Clarinet Competition (Romania), and others.

Dukovski has recorded over 30 albums for labels including Naxos, New Focus Records, Deutsche Grammophon, Albany Records, Sono Luminus, Tzadik, In a Circle Records, and Parma Recordings. He has also contributed to film scores and video games including Civilization VI (Theme of Macedon: The Ancient Era).

Born in Ohrid, Republic of Macedonia, Dukovski began his musical journey at age five and earned a Fine Arts Award from Interlochen Arts Academy before completing his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees at the Juilliard School of Music under Charles Neidich and Ayako Oshima.

The clarinetist, Pablo Barragán is recognised for his refined sound paired with a high skill of craftsmanship, stage charisma and boundless curiosity for the programming of his performances.


Pablo trained at the Seville Conservatory with Antonio Salguero and with Matthias Glander at the Fundación Barenboim-Said in Seville.
He is the winner of the Prix Crédit Suisse Jeunes Solistes (2013), amongst other competitions.
He has worked with orchestras such as the Brucknerhaus Orchestra Linz, the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra, the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra, the Orquesta Sinfónica de Radio Televisión Española, and the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra with conductors such as Anja Bihlmaier, Thomas Dausgaard, Daniel Raiskin, and Zsolt Hamar.

Pablo collaborates with chamber music partners such as Liza Ferschtmann, Elena Bashkirova, Beatrice Rana, Kian Soltani, Emmanuel Pahud, the Modigliani Quartet and the Schumann Quartet.
His chamber music invitations have included performances at the Rheingau Music Festival, Classiche Form, the Martha Argerich Festival, Wigmore Hall London and Tonhalle Zurich.

The 2023/24 season brings solo appearances with orchestras such as the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra in Neumarkt and at the Heidelberger Frühling, led by cellist & conductor István Várdai; the Brasov Philharmonic under Paul Meyer, and the Bursa Philharmonic under Adrian Prabava, among others.
He has also been invited to open the season for the Cordoba Symphony Orchestra under Alvaro Albiach.

In the realm of chamber music, he will perform with Noa Wildschut and pianist Frank Dupree at Konzerthaus Dortmund and the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, among other venues.
Further concerts bring him to the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Cologne Philharmonic Hall, Teatro Ristori Verona and Auditorium C. Pollini Padova with the Sitkovetsky Trio and the Cremona Quartet to Amici della Musica in Florence.
Other festival invitations include the Jerusalem Chamber Music Festival, Kaposfest (Hungary), Beethovenfest (Bonn), Festival Monteleón (León), and Música Musika (Bilbao).
Pablo will also participate in a South America tour with the Jerusalem Chamber Music Festival Ensemble.

Pablo’s curiosity and creativity are reflected in his 2022 album BOUNDLESS, uniting the sound worlds of Weinberg, Bernstein, Prokofiev and Poulenc, released on Aparté Music.
Together with Noa Wildschut and Frank Dupree he will release a new recording (2024/25) for the label Accentus Classic.

Since 2020, Pablo Barragán has been a Professor at the Barenboim-Said Academy Seville and teaches master classes at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía Madrid.

Saxophonist Dr. Dave Camwell has received wide acclaim for his technique, expression and performance in classical and jazz styles. He was a featured soloist in both styles in evening concerts at the 2012 and 2023 North American Saxophone Alliance biennial conferences.

Recently, he has collaborated extensively with Czech saxophonist Kateřina Pavlíková on a series of new works for their group, Covert Ensemble. These arrangements focus on creating virtuosic and compelling music for two saxes. The group was recently named the second prize winners of the American Prize in Chamber Music Performance in October, 2024, and the national finalists for the Ernst Bacon Memorial Award for the Performance of American Music in June, 2024.

Camwell is Director of Jazz Studies and Professor of Music at Troy University in Alabama.

Paweł Kroczek – musician – clarinetist, soloist, chamber musician, orchestral musician and teacher.

Currently, he works as an assistant professor at the Academy of Music in Poznań, where he obtained a PhD in art in 2016.

In 2011 he graduated with honours from the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań in the clarinet class of Professor Zdzisław Nowak. In the years 2011 – 2013 he continued hisnstudies at Lund University – Musikhogskolan I Malmo under the direction of the world-famous soloist – Olli Leppäniemi. He also studied at the Academy of Music in Wrocław in the clarinet class of Professor Jan Tatarczyk.

In 2013 he passed the exam for the Opus International Youth Festival Orchestra (Innsbruck). In 2012 he received the First Prize in the Chamber Music Category and the Third Prize in the Soloists Category at the International Competition in Svirel (Slovenia). In 2011 he won the third prize at the V National Competition of Musical Interpretation (Krasiczyn). In 2010 he won the Third Prize at the 12th International Chamber Music Competition (Jawor) and the Honorable Mention in the Chamber Category at the 4th West Pomeranian Clarinet Festival (Szczecin). In 2009, he was a scholarship holder of the Socrates – Erasmus programme – studies in the clarinet class of Dr Igor Frantisak – Ostravska Univerzita (Ostrava, Czech Republic).

He is the principal clarinetist of the Collegium F and L’autunno orchestras. He is a member of the wind octet Kapela Farna and Feroce Trio. He has collaborated with many excellent conductors, such as: Gabriel Chmura, Jacek Kasprzyk, Marcin Sompoliński, Nikolai Znaider, Jakub Chrenowicz, Wojciech Rodek, Przemysław Neumann, Paweł Przytocki, Marek Pijarowski, Jerzy Salwarowski, taking part in numerous orchestral projects throughout the country.

He has performed at numerous festivals, including: Animator, Malta Festival, Poznań Music Spring, Przemyśl Music Autumn, Transatlantyk, Nostalgia Festival, Karol Szymanowski Festival in Beijing; International Clarinet Festival and Congress in Gyro (2018, 2021), Camerino (2019), Krakow (2022).

He has performed numerous world premieres of works by contemporary composers, as well as radio, television and CD recordings. As a soloist, he has performed with the orchestras of the Kalisz Philharmonic, the Poznań Opera, the Academy of Music in Poznań and the Collegium F orchestra.

Paweł Kroczek is a co-founder and vice-president of the Józef Madeja Association, http://festiwalmadei.pl/stowarzyszenie/ He is also a member of the board of the Karol Kurpiński Music Society in Włoszakowice and a co-organizer of the Karol Kurpiński Academic Clarinet Competition.

He is very active as a teacher and his students have won numerous awards and distinctions in national and international competitions. He is a CEA consultant, as well as a lecturer of many master classes for clarinetists. He sits on the jury of national and international competitions and CEA auditions.

Since 2020, Paweł Kroczek has been an artist of the Royal Global Clarinets manufactory. He uses Royal Global Firebaird and Buffet Crampon Festival clarinets.

Born in 1968, Giuseppe F. Corpina began studying clarinet at the age of seven in Echternach (Luxembourg). When he went back to Italy he entered the Conservatory of Messina in 1982 where he kept studying under the tuition of Giuseppe Balbi – Principal Clarinet at Teatro Massimo in Palermo.

In 1990 he obtained his degree and was chosen to play as soloist the Clarinet Concert n. 2 in E-flat major of Carl Maria von Weber.

In the same year he won the position of Principal Clarinet in the Youth Sicilian Orchestra.

After an audition he played many times at the Teatro Massimo Orchestra in Palermo (1992 – 1993 – 2000 – 2010) where he also recorded Lulu by Alban Berg under the direction of Stefan Anton Reck.

He played most of masterpieces for clarinet and piano in various concerts. His repertory includes also chamber music and solo clarinet pieces.

Through the years he has been requested as First Clarinet in various Wind Orchestras and he also performed as Concertmaster in the Nebrodi Symphonic Band under the direction of Nunzio Ortolano with CD recording.

He was First Clarinet at the Messina Sinfonietta Orchestra and the Calabria Philharmonic Orchestra. He currently holds the same role at the Messina Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Nazzareno De Benedetto with whom he played, as a soloist, the concerto KV 622 by W.A. Mozart on December 2024.

Giuseppe F. Corpina plays on:
– French system clarinets Buffet Crampon, Mantes-La-Ville, France;
– German system clarinets Oscar Adler & Co., Markneukirchen, Germany.

On November 25th 2018 he performed as soloist Johann Stamitz’s Clarinet Concert in B-flat and Franz Xaver Pokorny’s Clarinet Concert in E-flat with German system clarinet.

He has been invited to hold master classes in Split (Croatia), in Novi Sad (Republic of Serbia), in Ankara (Turkey) and at the State Conservatoire in Tbilisi (Georgia). He has been invited by the Vytautas Magnus University Music Academy to take part at International VMU Staff Teaching week on May 2025. He regularly exchanges with clarinetist Roeland Hendrikx in Leuven (Belgium) at the LUCA School of Arts.

From November 2022 to May 2023, he attended the first edition of AEC ICON Seminar “The Artist as Teacher”.

Since November 2016 he is professor at the Conservatory of Messina. In 2019 he held the position of Erasmus coordinator for his conservatory. He is Head of Wind Department.

In 2025, Giuseppe F. Corpina became an artist of the SCV LIGATURES. He uses Tonus Mundi/Brass and Fusion/Nickel ligatures.

Joel Cardoso is a member of the City Light Orchestra (resident at the KKL Lucerne) and regularly collaborates with the Orchestra della Svizzera italiana (OSI), Luzerner Sinfonieorchester and the Argovia Philharmonic.


Joel is the winner of more than two dozen international competitions and prizes in countries such as Portugal, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Romania, Thailand, Poland and Peru.

He has participated in music festivals in Lucerne, Zermatt, Grafenegg, Aurora, Animato, Höri and Davos.
He is an ambassador of the Lucerne Festival Academy, where he collaborated with the Lucerne Festival Contemporary Orchestra (LFCO).
He was twice selected for the Zermatt Music Festival and Academy, where he worked with musicians from the Berlin Philharmonic.

After auditioning, he was invited to play with the Estonian National Opera and the Orquesta Sinfónica de Madrid (Teatro Real).

He obtained his first diploma with full marks in Domingos Castro’s class at the Guimarães Conservatory and graduated from the University of Minho with Vitor Matos, before being invited to study at the Hochschule für Musik Trossingen with Chen Halevi, where he learned historically informed performance techniques.
He completed a master’s degree at the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana under François Benda and Jordi Pons, where he received a scholarship from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
Since 2021, he has been studying Orchestra and Solo Master at the Hochschule Luzern with Paolo Beltramini and Robert Pickup.

Dr. Dawid Głowacki – Polish clarinetist, graduate of the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk. He graduated with distinction from his masters degree in 2016, in the class of dr hab. Grzegorz Wieczorek. In September 2021, he obtained his doctoral degree.

Since 2024, he has been a clarinetist and bass clarinetist at the Polish Baltic Philharmonic in Gdańsk. In the same year, he became an official artist of the Gleichweit-Mundstücke company.

As a soloist, he has performed in many European countries, including Germany, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Belarus, Sweden, Greece, and the Netherlands. In 2015, he received a scholarship from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. He has won many awards and distinctions at international and national competitions.

He constantly collaborates with many composers, performing their works at numerous festivals. Contemporary music and its interpretation occupy a special place in the artist’s repertoire. Recent activities have led to the creation of the album “BOOM” with clarinet music by Jacob Ter Veldhuis.

He improved his skills with outstanding artists such as: Florent Heau, Pierre Génisson, Jean-Marc Fessard, Antonio Saiote, Gabor Varga, Andrew Marriner, Igor Frantisak.

Dawid is also a teacher at the General Music School in Gdańsk. His didactic activity is very extensive. He has a lot of students and gives master classes around the country.

In 2025, Dawid Głowacki became an artist of the SCV Ligatures. He uses Tonus Mundi and M-Touch ligatures.

Mattia Cacciavillani – Musician: Saxophonist and Orchestra Director.

Mattia Cacciavillani began his musical studies at the age of 10 in the “Domenico Ceccarossi” musical comprehensive school in Orsogna, and then continued them at the “MI-BE” Artistic, Musical and Dance High School in Pescara and subsequently in the “Luisa D’Annunzio” State Conservatory of Music in Pescara, where he trained with Maestro Gaetano Di Bacco until completing the two-year high school diploma in “Discipline Musicali Saxofono”.

He obtained his academic diploma in July 2020 with “Laude and Honorable Mention” with a thesis of a musicological nature written together with the supervisor M° Raffaele Napoli and the co-supervisor M° Gaetano Di Bacco, entitled “The Saxophone: History, Interpreters, Interpretation” , in which themes inherent to the history of the saxophone and saxophonists are addressed, as well as interdisciplinary discussions regarding musical interpretation in objective terms, musical hermeneutics, philosophical reflection on the artistic content, function and fruition of the work of art , art and technology, art and its claim to present itself as a truthful experience of the world, making use of knowledge in the field of phenomenology of music, philosophy, aesthetics and psychology of music.

During his academic career at the conservatory, in the 2019/2020 academic year, he took the opportunity to study, through the “Erasmus+” project, at the “Fryderyk Chopin University of Music” in Warsaw with Maestro Paweł Gusnar, to which he returned, after graduating, in the 2020/2021 academic year as an intern, serving as an artist and as an assistant of the saxophone class.

He has held specialization courses and masterclasses with various saxophonists, including:
Claude Delangle, Vincent David, Arno Bornkamp, Federico Mondelci, Enzo Filippetti, Vittorio Cerasa, Luciano Ciavattella, Gaetano Di Bacco, David Brutti, Mario Marzi, Hans de Jong, Serge Bertocchi, Jérôme Laran, Joonatan Rautiola.

He has won competitions in various formations at: “Paolo Barrasso” International Competition of Caramanico Terme, National Competition of Campobasso, “Francesco Paolo Tosti” Music Competition of Ortona, “Young Interpreters” Competition of the Pescarese Music Academy, National Competition of Tarquinia, Competition “Garganum” National Competition, MIUR National Public Education Competition, “Officina delle MuSax” National Music Competition and others.

He has played in chamber ensembles with various musicians and as an orchestra member in the following orchestras: European Youth Symphony Orchestra, Rome Youth Symphony Orchestra, Dean Martin Symphony Orchestra, Youth Symphony Orchestra of the Carlo Gesualdo da Venosa Theater, MiBe Orchestra, Conservatory Wind Orchestra of Pescara, Symphony Orchestra of the Conservatory of Pescara, Young Academic Symphony Orchestra, Chopin University Modern Music Ensamble; performing in various concert halls, including: Concert Hall of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music of Warsaw, Filharmonia Narodowa of Warsaw, Karol Szymanowski Auditorium of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music of Warsaw,  Teatro Massimo of Pescara, Flaiano Auditorium of Pescara ,  Marrucino Theater of Chieti, Carlo Gesualdo da Venosa Theater of Avellino, Francesco Paolo Tosti Theater of Ortona, Municipal Theater of Città Sant’Angelo, Basilica San Pancrazio of Rome, Torri Montanare of Lanciano, Abbey of San Giovanni in Venere of Fossacesia, Abbey San Clemente a Casauria in Castiglione a Casauria, Roman Amphitheater in Alba Fucens, Auditorium Italia in Atessa, Auditorium of the Luisa D’Annunzio State Conservatory of Music in Pescara, Spazio Matta in Pescara, Teatro ex Aurum in Pescara, Teatro Fedele Fenaroli in Lanciano, Collegiate Church of San Michele Arcangelo in Città Sant’Angelo, Palazzo D’Avalos in Vasto, Teatro D’Annunzio in Pescara, Piazza della Rinascente in Pescara and others.

As an orchestra conductor he studied with Maestro Raffaele Napoli and conducted the orchestra of the State Opera Theater in the city of Varna in the conducting courses, run by the Sergiu Celibidache Association.

In 2022 he was the winner of the national teachers competition announced by the “Ministry of Education, University and Research” for the teaching of musical disciplines in secondary schools.

Since 2024, Mattia Cacciavillani has been an artist of the SCV ligatures. He uses Sonus Divinus ligatures.
