Davor Reba – SCV LIGATURES Artist

Davor Reba is a distinguished Croatian clarinetist and pedagogue. Since 1997, he has been a member of the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, and since 2001 he has served as its principal clarinetist and section leader. He is also a full professor at the Academy of Music, University of Zagreb.

He studied in Zagreb in the class of Professor Giovanni Cavallin and completed both his diploma and master’s degree at the Academy of Music in Zagreb under Professor Josip Tonžetić. From 1994 to 1996, he continued his studies in Antwerp, Belgium, with the legendary clarinetist Walter Boeykens, while also participating in numerous masterclasses led by internationally renowned soloists and pedagogues.

Alongside his orchestral career, Davor Reba has appeared as a soloist with the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, the Zadar Chamber Orchestra, and the Croatian Chamber Orchestra. As a chamber musician, he has collaborated with ensembles including Cantus, the Zagreb Quartet, the Porin Quartet, the “Arundo Donax” Clarinet Quartet, the Varaždin Chamber Orchestra, the Croatian Chamber Orchestra, and the Rucner Quartet.

As a recital artist, he has worked with distinguished Croatian pianists including Ljubomir Gašparević, Veljko Glodić, Martina Cukrov, Vlasta Gyura, Lana Bradić, and Ivan Batoš, performing solo recitals throughout Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Hungary, and other European countries. In recent years, he has regularly performed internationally with pianist Marina Matolić.

Davor Reba is also a co-founder of the Wind Octet of the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, the Ad Libitum Septet, and VIMM, an international competition and seminar for clarinetists.

Throughout his artistic career as a soloist, orchestral musician, and chamber performer, he has appeared at nearly all major Croatian music festivals, as well as numerous prestigious international festivals worldwide. Together with the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, he has toured extensively throughout Europe, Asia, South America, Central America, and North America, collaborating with world-renowned conductors and soloists.

In 2006, he represented Croatia as a member of the World Philharmonic Orchestra in Paris.

Davor Reba is also regularly invited to serve as a jury member at national and international music competitions.

In 2026, Davor Reba became an official artist of SCV LIGATURES.
He performs using the SONUS DIVINUS and M-TOUCH ligatures.
